These are the 4 plates that make up the left shoulder hub. The holes are drilled to 1/8" but I will enlarge them to 6mm using the step drill.
I glued the L2 onto the L1 using two M6 screws to line up the holes.
These are the uprights for the shoulder, 12 on each one.
Uprights glued to the L2 plate. This plate has alignment marks showing where to position them.
L3 and L4 attached on top of the uprights. Again I used M6 screws to line everything up
After this dried I drilled the other 7 holes all at once on the drill press. This ensures they're all in alignment.

Then I countersunk the outer holes on plate 4 and the inner holes on plate 1.
This is how the M6 screws mount inside the hub. I put a little blue Loctite on the threads before tightening the nuts.
Hubs ready for skinning.
I attached the 1mm skins with rubber bands and let the ends overlap. I glued these up and let them dry overnight.
Then I cut thru both layers where the ends overlap (using a straightedge); this left a nice tight joint.
Test fitting the right hub in the frame...
And test fitting a leg to the hub.
Finally I added the faux metal shelf liner to the outer skin. This completes the hubs.
